Many thanks to Ann (local resident) who today kindly donated a huge surplus fern from her garden to our Woodend/Bobby’s Wood woodland themed project, and planted by the Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD). Green fingered Ann is also responsible for organising and caring for the beautiful planters that brighten the entrance to Maghull on Northway adjacent to the new Aldi. Thanks for being such a great inspiration for our community.
FOMD would also like to send our best wishes to everyone at the Champion newspaper, following the sad news of their closure today. During the last four years of our charity’s short existence, we have received incredible support and inspiration from everyone at the Champion newspaper. They have been the beating heart of so many local communities and deserving of the name ‘champion’ as they have championed so many good causes. They have left an unimaginable void to fill. But more importantly they must also be experiencing unimaginable uncertainty in the most challenging of times. We wish them all the very best of luck in the future. It would be wonderful if the community could provide them with some form of tribute/support for everything they have done for our community.
