As a regular cyclist and lifelong resident of Maghull I have reported literally hundreds of problems to the Sefton council telephone helpdesk and although the roads are not checked as much or you have to wait a little longer on the telephone to speak to a friendly and efficient call handler, the service has been excellent, without having to escalate problems to our busy local councillors.

Before Christmas and a follow-up after Christmas I reported potholes outside our Rowlands Dell project and our neighbours, and the broken surface at the junction of Stafford Moreton Way and Liverpool Road North (Maghull’s busiest junction leading to Morrisons, health centre sheltered accommodation and close to our Stafford Moreton Way Project. The job was caught up after Christmas, the engineers contacted me and the road surface was replaced in the usual high standard by Sefton subcontractors Dowhigh Construction.

Other recent swift responses have happened at Moss Lane, Dodds Lane, Parkbourn entrance, Park Lane, Southport Road and several on Northway only in the last month with good communication from Sefton Highways department and the engineers on site.

In these challenging times for the council it is great to see such positive outcomes from the Sefton Highways department.

Many thanks,
