Following Maghull’s astounding 2-4 semi-final away win at MSB Woolton, last week, Maghull FC are now playing their biggest ever game in their 105  year history on Saturday in the final promotion play-off away game to Droylsden FC, with the winner being promoted from the North-West Counties Football League – First Division North to the Premier Division.

If you read their history and their incredible journey below you will realise how rightly proud our community should be whether they win or lose on Saturday.

Listen to Joe Burns (pictured inspirational manager) recent 8-minute interview (26.4.26) on BBC Radio Merseyside with a lovely insight into the teams progress and the big match which can be found 1hr 10mins into the programme at: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002v7jc?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile

Last year, Maghull FC (founded in 1921) returned to the Northwest Counties League (NWCFL – 1988 founder member) following a 26-year absence despite considerable on field success. Their return was achieved when astonishing work was undertaken to create facilities that met NWCFL criteria and they achieved and consolidated a very respectable 10 of 18 position, surprising many with the beauty of their football and ground.

Maghull FC are so worthy of our support not only for their work on and off the field but for their commitment to our community in remarkably running 48 teams for every age.

COME ON YOU BLUES! FOOTBALL’S COMING HOME!
