We are blessed with many fantastic businesses in Maghull who really go the extra mile to support the community, but we want to commend Saxon Tree Specialists for always going above and beyond.
The Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) embarked on Maghull’s largest ever green transformation project (see background information below). However, to complete this brilliant volunteer project we have launched a crowdfunding campaign on the 5.6.25 to raise £8775 to extend the health and wellness pathway into a circular walk and obtain a huge array of woodland plants before October.
Remarkably, Saxon Tree Specialists generously donated £400, which is our largest donation so far. There kindness has extended throughout the last two years, with: support planting trees, providing woodchip and logs for projects, transported countless heavy shrubs and rocks, strimming large areas to enable the volunteers to rake away 30 years of debris, and have even provided a large slice of wood to act as a new rustic sign (currently seasoning).

The local ‘Saxon’ Family Team (pictured at Rowlands Dell with the Mayor of Sefton, councillors and volunteers) are incredibly friendly, warm, professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, interested and interesting. Sarah is a qualified horticulturist and her family Mike, Thomas and Luke – who qualified at one of the country’s most prestigious horticultural colleges (Myerscough) receiving distinctions.

Please Urgently Help with Donations/Support for Our Rowlands Dell Appeal
We need to raise £8775 before October (113 days!), to pay for a lower connecting path (creating a circular health and wellness walk) and a huge array of much-needed woodland plants.

Background to Rowlands Dell.
This beautiful haven for wildlife has unbelievably been treated as an open tip for decades, where every inch has revealed a variety of pollutants harmful to wildlife. In our three-stage plan, stage I has resulted in Maghull’s biggest ever 46-week cleanup in which FOMD have removed 266 bin bags of litter and 25 tons of debris.
In Stage II (completed in November), with the help our NHS landowner partners we successfully obtained health and wellness grant (Maghull’s largest green investment) to fund an amazing legacy array of hard landscaping installations. These features provided accessibility for the whole community and included: accessible path, viewing/picnic area, sunken garden, bins, 10,000 bulbs and planting at small junction points, bug and bird boxes, and a dry waterfall feature).
We are now engaging in stage three to repopulate Rowlands Dell with woodland planting and need your help.
