SUMMARY:Exciting Outcomes for Maghull Soon but we need a little more preparation help.
DESCRIPTION:One Hour Volunteer Opportunities below. \nWe have regular welcoming multi-award-winning one-hour sessions you can just drop into any time without any commitment. No special skills needed just a healthy dose of enthusiasm! \nVenue & Tasks. \nThe Friends of Maghull & District (FOMD) need volunteers to meet at Rowlands Dell (adjacent to the Hare & Hounds Pub) for one hour on Wednesday (3.12.25) at 09.00 hours\, to undertake the following: \n\nMainly Continuing Weeding in excited preparation for fund raised mass fern zone planting (600)\, 1200 bulbs (8.12.25) and new 50m extension pathway (3.12.25)\, in December.\n\nIf we have any spare time we will focus on the task below also: \n\nPlant fruit trees.\nTrim car park hedge and ivy perimeter.\nMaintain newly planted trees by removing any competitive weeds.\nEmpty bins.\nModify newly cemented wooden posts to accommodate A4 sized lectern style boards for future signage.\nStart installing Christmas installations.\n\nEquipment needed: sturdy boots\, garden gloves\, hand or garden fork\, kneeling mat\, spade. \nMany thanks to Linda (pictured) Colin and Frank for the weeding help in today’s Dell session (30.11.25) in preparation for next week’s mass fern planting (8.12.25). \nIf You Would like to Help? \nVolunteer sessions this week (everyone is welcome without any commitment) can be found on our Events calendar page at https://www.fomd.co.uk/events/ where you will find all the details. \nCrowdfunding Campaign. So far\, with your help\, we have raised enough money for one 50m path extension (£7\,600) which will commence in November but we are hoping to raise another £7000 for another crucial 35m connecting path and much-needed large-scale woodland shrubs. Please donate online at www.fomd.co.uk or with cash at the Hare & Hounds PH\, Morrisons\, Esso Petrol Station. \nRowlands Dell Introduction (3min Video): https://youtu.be/lxrTdudVza8?si=AM_znsaI35Cose-M \nBackground to Rowlands Dell. \nThis beautiful haven for wildlife has unbelievably been treated as an open tip for decades\, where every inch has revealed a variety of pollutants harmful to wildlife. In our three-stage plan\, stage I has resulted in Maghull’s biggest ever 46-week cleanup in which FOMD have removed 300 bin bags of litter and 25 tons of debris. \nIn Stage II (completed in November)\, with the help of our NHS landowner partners we successfully obtained a health and wellness grant (Maghull’s largest green investment) to fund an amazing legacy array of hard landscaping installations. These features provided accessibility for the whole community and included: accessible path\, viewing/picnic area\, sunken garden\, bins\, 10\,000 bulbs and planting at small junction points\, bug and bird boxes\, and a dry waterfall feature). A Morrisons grant has enabled us to create the ongoing bog garden and wishing well. \nWe are now engaging in stage three to repopulate Rowlands Dell with woodland planting and need your help. \nBest Wishes\, \nFriends of Maghull & District (FOMD) \nTogether making Maghull a better place to live. \nMore information at www.fomd.co.uk including: (1) Events tab for everything about the meeting and (2) Projects tab for the project background. \nContact: admin@fomd.co.uk \n#fomdcic #Maghull #Environment

\nContact: admin@fomd.co.uk \n#fomdcic #Maghull #Environment \nAfter Today!! \nBefore Today \n \nScreenshot \n
