SUMMARY:Can You Volunteer for Only a One Hour Session This Week to Improve Maghull?
DESCRIPTION:Everyone is welcome including businesses who offer social value days. The community woodland border is the largest in Maghull and if we can finish its annual tidy up then we can start new projects for the good of Maghull elsewhere. \nWhen. Our Next One Hour Session is on Wednesday (11.6.25) 0930 hours. \nVenue: Woodend/Bobby’s Wood (at the junction of Liverpool Road South and Northway\, next to Bumble’s Nursery) \nTask: \n\nWeeding the 50×4 m woodland border.\nTrimming wisteria tree Boulevard.\nRe-establishing the Willows into an inviting entrance archway.\nTrimming the small rockery hedge.\n\nEquipment needed: sturdy boots\, garden gloves\, kneeling pad\, hand and garden fork. \nThank You\, to Jill and Joan (pictured) and Colin and Frank who kindly undertook our previous session here in April when they undertook: \n\nweeding the border one producing a full agricultural bag for the recycling centre.\nweeded\, mulched\, watered and trimmed the 20 wisteria trees.\n\nBackground to the Woodend Project: https://www.fomd.co.uk/woodend-community-woodland-project/ \nUrgent  Crowdfunding Donations for Rowlands Dell. \nWe need to raise £8775 before October (136 days!)\, to pay for a lower connecting path (creating a circular health and wellness walk) and a huge array of much-needed woodland plants. \nTo attract potential match funding we have established a new (5.6.25) donation page (8.6.25\, £687 raised) which is organised by Sefton Council and the National crowdfunding organisation (Spacehive). Our chances of receiving match funding can be enhanced by your involvement to demonstrate community support in the form of donations (minimum £2)\, ‘likes’ and ‘positive comments’. \nPlease encourage everyone you know to visit https://www.spacehive.com/rowlandsdell and donate any amount\, ‘like’ and post a positive comment. The website also has a short introductory video \nDONATE AT  https://www.spacehive.com/rowlandsdell \nShare with everyone using the share button the main picture of the website \nBackground to Rowlands Dell. \nThis beautiful haven for wildlife has unbelievably been treated as an open tip for decades\, where every inch has revealed a variety of pollutants harmful to wildlife. In our three-stage plan\, stage I has resulted in Maghull’s biggest ever 46-week cleanup in which FOMD have removed 266 bin bags of litter and 25 tons of debris. In the two months of Stage II\, that was completed in November\, with our NHS landowner partners (expertly installed by subcontractors – PR England Landscapers) using a health and wellness grant fund (representing Maghull’s largest green investment) have installed an amazing legacy array of hard landscaping installations to provide accessibility for the whole community (accessible path\, viewing/picnic area\, sunken garden\, bins\, 10\,000 bulbs and planting at small junction points\, bug and bird boxes\, and a dry waterfall feature). We are now engaging in stage three to repopulate Rowlands Dell with woodland planting and need your help. \nMany Thanks and Best Wishes\, \nFOMD \nTogether making Maghull a better place to live. \nMore information at www.fomd.co.uk including: (1) Events tab for everything about the meeting and (2) Projects tab for the project background. \nContact: admin@fomd.co.uk \n#fomdcic #Maghull #Environment \n \n

In our three-stage plan\, stage I has resulted in Maghull’s biggest ever 46-week cleanup in which FOMD have removed 266 bin bags of litter and 25 tons of debris. \nIn Stage II (completed in November)\, with the help our NHS landowner partners we successfully obtained health and wellness grant (Maghull’s largest green investment) to fund an amazing legacy array of hard landscaping installations.  These features provided accessibility for the whole community and included: accessible path\, viewing/picnic area\, sunken garden\, bins\, 10\,000 bulbs and planting at small junction points\, bug and bird boxes\, and a dry waterfall feature). \nWe are now engaging in stage three to repopulate Rowlands Dell with woodland planting and need your help.
