Just One Hour for Maghull: ‘The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it’. Robert Swan.

| FreeTree Project: Is anyone free for only one hour to finish off the weeding around the trees at Old Hall Lane Park (pictured on the map near the canal embankment) on Thursday (20.4.23), 09.00hrs? Sorry about the timing but it is the only time in between meetings and before the wet weather starts again at the end of the week onwards.
On this occasion, we will meet at Old Hall Lane Park (use the closest entrance at the end of Hornby Chase L31 5PP).
It might seem like a small job but it will make a massive difference and the more people who can help the quicker it will be finished. We will be weeding by removing grass from inside the tree guards in some our young previously community planted 15,000 trees in 2021/22. Removing the weeds makes a huge difference to the tree growth and survival as evidenced Mersey Forest.
Please bring garden gloves.
A huge thank you to: Joan, Diane, Paul, John (pictured) for making our last meeting (15.4.23) such an enjoyable time. A lovely day with lovely people and unbelievably we tidied all the trees (in the before picture) right up to the large tree in the distance, which is the bit we need to finish off on Thursday.

After. Restarting near the large tree. Supervised by Eva (Dianne’s Dog!)
