Can You Spare Just One Hour as part of our ‘One Hour for Maghull Initiative’
9 February 2023 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm
| FreeIf You Can Spare Just One Hour as part of our ‘One Hour for Maghull Initiative’ we would be delighted to welcome you, on this occasion, to Pimbley Field (Junction of Bridge Road and Fieldway, L31 5LX) at 10:30 hours on Thursday and Sunday (9.2.23 and 12.2.23). We will be spreading some wood chippings around some our 3,000 young previously planted mixed wildlife friendly hedge trees (Thursday) and some weeding by removing grass from inside tree guards (Sunday).
If possible, please bring garden gloves for both days and a rake, shovel, wheelbarrow for Thursday only.
Huge thanks for our last four Give One Hour events:
(2.2.23) Pimbley Project Hedge Work: Unbelievably Joan and Paul removed the weeds from half of the new huge hedge and then demolished four tons of wood chippings (courtesy of free donation from Paul Richards local tree surgeons) and spread it around the same hedging trees, to give them a fighting chance to survive into a mature hedge that sadly was historically removed.

(4.2.23 pm) Pimbley Project Hedge Work: Thank you to Ken who helped to remove the weeds from the second half of the hedge, in preparation for the next wood chippings.

(4.2.23 am) Three bin bags of litter collected from Parkbourn and Park Lane
(5.2.23) Woodend Project Tree & Rocks Donation: A huge thank you to Christine and Tony for donating an incredible 26 Westmorland rocks and two stunning mature ornate plaited willow trees. Another thank you to Ken for transporting them all to our Woodend Project. Then on Monday and Tuesday the trees were dug into four foot holes to majestically greet visitors either side of the Woodend’s south entrance and the rocks beautifully completed the rock perimeter of the 50×4 woodland community border.

We hope you can help out and make a brilliant difference to our community..
Best Wishes
