Why We Need Your Help.

Tribute to Dr John Rowlands (1939-2022 Died 19.11.22) John’s service to Maghull has been second to none from award-winning GP, who co-founded the Maghull Medical Centre to unrivalled local historian.  John is missed for his incredible intellect, wonderful humour, storytelling, compassion, and kindness. We really can’t think of anyone who has given more to Maghull. Learn more: https://www.fomd.co.uk/goodbye-to-maghulls-best-friend/

Living Legacy.

Consequently, we embarked on Maghull’s largest ever green transformation to create a health and wellness restorative haven next to the medical centre, as a fitting living legacy. This magical restorative space in the centre of Maghull provides a sense of continuity of Dr John Rowlands lifelong commitment to promote the best health for our community. Crowdfunding Starts with Remarkable Donation for Cherished Friend.

To complete this remarkable project we have launched a crowdfunding campaign last week that received an equally remarkable first donation of £250 from Dr John Rowlands family friend – Tom Davies (pictured in the middle and overlooking the dry waterfall).

Tom wrote the following in his card,

“To the team of Friends of Maghull and District (FOMD), I enclose a donation of £250 to the FOMD team in admiration of all the hard work which has been done at the Dell to make it so tranquil and the place to reflect. John Rowlands was a personal family friend and it is a great tribute to a wonderful man. Well done”, Tom Davies.

SPREAD THE WORD.

We would love you to share this crowdfunding campaign with everyone you know, using the sharing button beneath the main picture, highlighting the importance of early donations, likes, positive comments and following, to create a great foundation and to encourage match funding.

Pictured: Dr John Rowlands bought a small boy an ice cream in Kathmandu, only to turn round and find a queue of his friends!

Thank you for being part of this special community project,

Best Wishes,
