Urgent Crowdfunding Donations for Rowlands Dell.
We need to raise £8775 before October (133 days!), to pay a a lower connecting path (creating a circular health and wellness walk) and a huge array of much-needed woodland plants.
To attract potential match funding we have established a new (5.6.25) donation page (10.6.25, £1402 raised) which is organised by Sefton Council and the National crowdfunding organisation (Spacehive). Our chances of receiving match funding can be enhanced by your involvement to demonstrate community support in the form of donations (minimum £2), ‘likes’, ‘positive comments’ and of course please share with everyone you know.
Please encourage everyone you know to visit https://www.spacehive.com/rowlandsdell and donate any amount, ‘like’ and post a positive comment. The website also has a short introductory video

Thank you to Joan, Charles, Linda, Diane, Ken (pictured), Colin, John and Frank (not pictured), at Rowlands Dell (31.5.25) who in the one hour were able to:
- Weed the dry waterfall (one full agricultural bag),
- Removed Brambles from the new grassed area which is growing so well we gave it its first cut but ran out of time to rake and sow the last grass seeds,
- Emptied Three Bins,
- Combined Multiple Donated Flower Seeds (donated by Marion) and raked and sowed them on the elevated border to the new path.
Thanks for Other Acts of Community Kindness.
- Since the temporary loss of FOMD’s official address and meeting place at the Town Hall, Kim Crowe (Parkhaven Trust Chief Executive) kindly allowed us to use Parkhaven’s boardroom (29.5.25).
- A special thank you to Ken for donating his £60 fee for work he undertook for a neighbour.
- Sarah (Saxon Tree Services), who dropped off a stunningly beautiful slice of a lime tree trunk, that we are drying out and will hopefully use as an engraved sign at Rowlands Dell hopefully early next year.
- Alex and his TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) have started creating the foundation for a Wishing Well in the upper viewing/picnic area.
Background to Rowlands Dell.
This beautiful haven for wildlife has unbelievably been treated as an open tip for decades, where every inch has revealed a variety of pollutants harmful to wildlife. In our three-stage plan, stage I has resulted in Maghull’s biggest ever 46-week cleanup in which FOMD have removed 266 bin bags of litter and 25 tons of debris. In the two months of Stage II, that was completed in November, with our NHS landowner partners (expertly installed by subcontractors – PR England Landscapers) using a health and wellness grant fund (representing Maghull’s largest green investment) have installed an amazing legacy array of hard landscaping installations to provide accessibility for the whole community (accessible path, viewing/picnic area, sunken garden, bins, 10,000 bulbs and planting at small junction points, bug and bird boxes, and a dry waterfall feature). We are now engaging in stage three to repopulate Rowlands Dell with woodland planting and need your help.
Huge thanks to one and all,
FOMD
Together making Maghull a better place to live.
